The POS Gateway takes card-present payments for a point of sale: it drives the merchant’s CardPointe terminal, authorizes through CardConnect, and answers the POS with the result. There’s no payment server to run in the store.

Two ways to connect

Call the API

For a POS that can make HTTPS requests: send each action to the gateway and read the JSON or XML answer.

Use the Mojo Payments CLI

For an on-premises POS that runs a program and reads a file: the mojo command does the HTTPS call for it.
Either way, the POS needs a POS Gateway key for each register (Keys).

Your POS

Some point-of-sale systems have their own setup steps. See the POS guides.

Before you start

The merchant needs POS Gateway turned on at the location, the location’s MIDs ready, and a key made for each register. See POS Gateway for merchants.
